Congratulations to Alexander Wang for winning the 2008 Council Fashion Designers of America and Vogue Fashion Fund Award in the US. He was presented a $US200,000 prize and a year’s worth of mentoring at the gala dinner.
Go Alex! Isn't he just fab.

I also found this lovely interview on the Vogue Australia website.
5 minutes with fashion designer : Alexander WangMischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan and his muse/stylist Erin Wasson have all been won over by Wang since he launched his first full women’s collection last year. This 24-year-old rising design star gives us a brief insight into his frenetic thoughts. Here, Wang speaks to vogue.com.au editor Damien Woolnough on style, his Saturday night plans and Kate Moss.
What lead you into fashion design?
I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else.
How would you characterise your style?Androgynous but instilled in classicism, and always with street cred and ease.
Who are your greatest style inspirations?Things that people sometimes overlook or don’t give enough credit to.
What is the best part of having your own label? You can literally do whatever you want.
And the worst? That you can do whatever you want, and sometimes, you make mistakes and the attention is fully on you.
What is your goal for the brand? To be a consistent lifestyle brand that strives for longevity and integrity.
Is there a trend you loathe? For now its denim miniskirts and trucker hats.
What do you do on a free Saturday night?Hang out with friends at home. Saturday is not a good night to go in New York City.
What has been your most ‘fashion’ moment?
Working in Miami with Kate Moss.

i have to say one thing deff agree with is the denim mini skirt thing. I used to like them when i was like younger but now i just can't stand them at all. I have no idea why, they look okay on some people but i don't think i could make myself wear one.
